MOTHER NATURE’S CANDY

This is perhaps the quickest, deliciously ooey-gooey, instant indulgent snack. Dates are quite literally nature’s candy, as a dried fruit they are naturally high on the glycemic index, but unlike conventional sweets, are also full of fibre, which aids digestion. By pairing naturally sweet foods – like fruit – with healthy fats – like nuts – you are creating a well-balanced snack that prevents sharp spikes in blood sugar, making a perfect quick pick-me-up!

I find that one or two is just enough to satisfy that sweet spot.

Ingredients

  • 1 Date (Medjool or Deglet Nour)
  • 1 tsp Nut Butter (Almond, Cashew, Peanut or Coconut)
  • 1 Nut (Almond, Cashew, Pecan, Pistachio, Walnut or Brazil)

Instructions

  • Cut date in half, remove stone.
  • Stuff with your choice of nut butter, we used almond butter.
  • Place your choice of whole nut on top, we used almond.
